Advice for children, young people, and their families

We are here to help individuals facing issues in the youth justice system. We recommend that anyone facing criminal proceedings find a criminal solicitor with expertise in youth justice to represent them. The advice line is run by a very small part-time team with limited capacity. We are unable to provide immediate responses to enquiries. We aim to make initial contact with the majority of enquiries within 1-2 weeks, with responses generally on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Whether or not we are able to assist with your enquiry will depend on capacity.

Please note that the advice line will be running at reduced capacity between 13th August and 16th September 2024.  During this period, we will need to prioritise enquiries from our members.

If your query is urgent and needs an immediate response, you can email us at [email protected] and we will endeavour to respond to your query as soon as possible.

Please do not use the [email protected] email for Advice Line queries.

While you are waiting for a response you may wish to consider whether you can find answers to your query in the Recently Asked Questions section of our website and the other legal resources available there.

Our advice line is open to anyone facing issues in the youth justice system.

We recommend that anyone facing criminal proceedings, whether in court or at the police investigation stage, find a criminal solicitor with expertise in youth justice to represent them.

Thank you both sincerely for your genuine assistance with this matter. Greatly appreciated! Myself, my partner and son are very grateful for such an outcome. Our son will now be able to focus on his studies and put this incident behind him, but without dismissing the lesson learned from it. Thank you both very much, once again! The world needs more people like you.
